Wabi Sabi: Letting go of perfectionism

The exquisite concept of Wabi Sabi implores us to view imperfection in ourselves and the world around us as vital for a connected way of living. Wabi Sabi teaches us to combat the urge to see flaws as negative, harmful, and undesirable.

Wabi is beauty in humble simplicity, without attention to flaws. Wabi allows us to open our hearts to a deeper, more spiritual dimension, so we can let go of excessive material and empty life pursuits. It provides a path to inner richness and calm.

Sabi focuses on the passage of time and what life presents as aging, growing or decaying. These realities are a manifestation of beauty that is hidden; our inclination is to deem anything less than perfect as broken. Sabi is the beauty that is beneath the surface of all imperfect expressions, that we don't see or acknowledge.

Wabi Sabi invites us to stay in the present moment, and appreciate the simple, transient aspects of life. It reminds us that we are in a constant state of flux that can't inherently include perfectionism. We can, however, strive for excellence and growth while embracing all imperfections which are actually beautiful, deep and rich.

Wabi Sabi is the natural state of being that I embrace with you as your Coach. I respect you as you are; imperfectly perfect! In our work, we will explore how you can achieve your personal, professional and relationship goals with the concept of Wabi Sabi and not the demands of perfection which truly do not exist!

We are asymmetrical, unbalanced and uneven in our humanness. I embrace the concept of Wabi Sabi in my life and honor it in yours.
